Portal explores the phenomenology of temporal-spatial perception. Insulated by sound-proof foam, lined with faux fur and led lights, the experience of entering the portal is like crawling into micro-utopia. It is no-place, a reprieve, a pocket-escape that could be added to any place to allow the user a break from one reality or a transition to another. In this constructed liminal space the external world is silenced, and often, so is the mental world.
